Who controls your data

What is collected
Essential
Server logs kept by the hosting provider, including IP address, user agent and requested URL. These exist to keep the site running and secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). They are retained for the period set by the hosting provider.
Advertising
Google AdSense serves the advertising on this site. Google and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads, and may process personal data as described in Google's own privacy documentation. Legal basis: consent. If you decline, you still get the whole site; ads become non-personalised where that option is available.
If you write to the contact address, your message and address are kept to reply and to track corrections. Nothing is added to a mailing list without a separate opt-in.
What is not collected
There is no analytics on this site — no Google Analytics, no third-party measurement script, nothing that profiles which pages you read. Fonts are self-hosted rather than loaded from a font CDN, so rendering a page does not hand your IP address to a third party. A site that audits what other software sends should be able to say what it sends itself, and that is the list.
Your consent choices
Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked before any non-essential cookie is set, using Google's certified consent message. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time — the message can be reopened from the control it provides, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Declining costs you nothing but personalised ads.
Your rights
Under GDPR you may request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Write to the contact address above.
If you believe your data has been mishandled you can complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto).
Transfers outside the EEA
Google, as the advertising provider, may transfer data outside the EEA under the safeguards described in its own notices. This site does not itself transfer your data anywhere else, because it does not collect anything beyond what is listed above.
